Thank you for your enquiry regarding RENT A BIKE in IRELAND. We are based in Limerick City, Ireland's third largest city, we are well served by bus and rail. Shannon International Airport is only 20KM from LIMERICK and there is a bus ever y 30 minutes. Emerald Cycles is in the centre of the city only 100M from the Tourist Office and only 10 minutes walk from the bus and Rail Station. We specialise in individual or small groups who want to rent bikes, by doing this it gives us more time to help you in planning your route, or for any queries or advice we can assist you with. Emerald Cycles has been in business for the last 70 years and renting bicycles for the past 25 years and there is very little we do not know about every road and route i n Ireland.

In oganising your holiday it is very important to start from a central location and LIMERICK is just that. We are only 90KM or less in many cases from popular places like Galway, the West of Clare, Killarney, Tralee and Dingle (to name but a few) and t here are a lot of places that are not on any tourist route that we can tell you about. We can deliver our bikes to any location in Ireland to be waiting for you when you arrive.The fun part is finding those places yourself on your journey, were just here to point you in the right direction!

Sizes are (48cm, 50cm -- Ladies) -- (54cm, 60cm -- Gents)

  • Saracen €80.00 per week or €20.00 per day

  • Car Bike Carrier (will carry 3 bikes) €40 per week

  • Pannier Bags €25.00 per week

  • Delivery & Collection Fee each direction €25.00 per bike

  • B&B Booking Fee €5.00 per room

  • Deposit €50.00 per Bicycle (Refunded on Return)

BAGGAGE -- We will store any baggage or luggage here in our Shop and have a changing room available free of charge. There is a lot of problems transporting baggage to diff erent locations. We do not recommend it.

MAPS -- The best route map is an Irish Ordnance Survey Map. It is the most detailed maps in Ireland. We recommend it. . We will help you here in our Shop to plan your route with detailed information.

VOUCHERS -- They are accepted in most businesses but there are problems, we recommend you use cash or Credit Cards. Travelers Checks are accepted most places

THE BICYCLES -- All our bicycles are Saracen they are the top quality bikes in Ireland and U.K. They are replaced every Summer. The quality is excellent. We in Emerald are a professional Bicycle Shop, we operate Rent-a-Bike all year round, most of our competitors only operate for the Summer Season.

BIKE HIRE -- All our bicycles can be rented and returned for an additional charge to any location in Ireland. This is where the expert's excel

ACCOMODATION. -- If required we will book the first night's accommodation for you in a Bed & Breakfast (B & B) or Hotel. The B&B's are great value and are of a very high standard i.e. -- €25.00 per night (Hostels start at €15.00). We only book B&B that we know are very friendly, in a quite location, central and good value. After the first night we recommend that you get from the Tourist Information Office which is 100m's from ou r shop the B&B Accommodation Guide. Ireland is sometimes referred to as the land of B&B's with this in mind you will have no problem in Summer time in getting accommodation. I recommend you book on a day to day basis
